Our Mission

Documenting a Living Tradition Before It Is Lost

Founded by musician and producer George Wilson, Kandelab has produced four songbooks accompanied by recordings, gathering 410 folk and Vodou songs that now constitute a real reference of Haitian sacred and secular music.

A lifelong lover of jazz, George later arranged forty-one of these songs for jazz musicians — the Kandelab Vodou Jazz Real Book — opening these traditions to a new generation of players and listeners around the world.
